Muse Christmas Visions inspiration

Creating cards every week of the year!

Here is a card that I made for the current
Cornelia provided not one, but four inspirational cards for us!

Here they are,

Its probably not too hard for you to figure out which card I was heavily influenced by...
those colors and the fun, whimsical elf really tugged at my heart!  I don't have an elf image, but I thought this little tree from a Memory Box set was equally fun!  Have you had time to play along yet?  There is still lots of time, as it is a month long challenge.

Thanks so much for peeking in!

Muse Christmas Visions meets pastel colors

Hello and welcome to the  81st installment of Muse: Christmas Visions!

I am really working diligently on Christmas cards this summer and this is one of 16 that I made.  It was very easy with my MISTI and the adorable Plus 9 "Holiday Houses" stamp set.  All stamping!

I first stamped all of my trees and houses onto fun foam and cut out to use for the "coloring" step in making my cards so that I could flip them over and press them into my various colors of ink pads.

The way that I arranged my stamps on my MISTI was as seen on my card from the lavender house to the trio of trees (covering half of the card front).  After stamping all of this part of my card fronts, I simply rotated my card fronts 180 degrees to stamp out the other half of the card front using black ink.  I then adhered my cut out foam stamps to an acrylic block and individually stamped the color over the stamped image.  Easy Peasy!  The sentiment is an older one from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks for peeking in and I hope to see you in the MCV gallery with your creations!

MCV birdies branches and snowflakes

Hi and Welcome!

I have a card for the Muse: Christmas Visions card challenge hosted by Kimberly this month!  Here is Kimberly's card.  Don't you love this color combo and arrangement!

Here is my card that I created with a Penny Black stamp that I heat embossed onto some Bristol card and colored with my Zig markers.  I was really inspired by Kimberly's card elements.  The pair of birds, wreath (my circular opening and leafy branches) and the pops of colours all played out in my card from Kimberly's challenge card.  I changed the intensity of colours for my image and I used a PTI Tropical Teal card panel for my card front.  I am making 6 of these for my stash.  That's a lower amount than I would normally make of a design.  I usually make a dozen at a time, but I have a few more NBUS stamps that I want to play with.

How about joining this challenge and adding to your Christmas card stash!   You can add your card over at the MCV page here.

Thanks for taking a peek and I hope to see you over in the gallery!

Ellen's February Pin Sights challenge

Happy Friday all!

I am starting to get back on track with card challenges and have a card today for the February Ellen Hutson Pin Sights challenge!

Aqua is my favorite color.  I could not pass this challenge up and it was a very good reason to ink up my NBUS Mondo Poinsettia stamp set!
I stamped in Tumbled glass distress ink onto hot press watercolor paper and used a combo of the tumbled glass, bundled sage and evergreen bough to color in.  I had in mind to try a no line watercolor, but stamping the tumbled glass directly and repeatedly onto the wc paper was the first mistake.  I forgot to stamp off, and well, I just went with it.
I also used a diluted mixture of hickory smoke to tuck in between the leaves and did a little dry brushing on the right hand side of the panel.  The flower centers are my nod to mixed media...white pen, yellow and blue Sakura glaze pens and distress inks.  I added the gorgeous sentiment from Julie's Holly and Mistletoe that I stamped in a charcoal grey ink.
Thanks for peeking in and have a great weekend!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!
Yes, it has been that long since my last post!
I am getting back into the swing of things and posts will be more frequent.

First of all, welcome to the new Muse: Christmas Visions monthly format!
Now we have time to really focus on the Muse for the month's musings :)

Here is Kimberley's card

Here is where Kimberley's cute card took me...see her mustached Santa...I think he really is stylish and mischievous looking.  I focused on his mustache and have them and a snowflake as elements that Kimberley's card have.  Loved the color combo, too!  I blended distress inks Tumbled Glass and Evergreen Bough together for the background over my masked mustache shapes that I cut from post it pad paper (I stamped again after the color blending and heat embossed with Hero Arts Puffy White) I stamped my snowflakes with Versamark and heat embossed with a glittery EP, but they did NOT look good.  I salvaged by stamping over them with Versamark and using the Puffy white over top.
I really like the inlaid Jolly that I die cut from a scrap of really glittery red card!
I hope you can play along too!
Please refer to the new format info on the MCV #76 posting of January 11th..
See you again next week at the Muse: Christmas Visions card club!

Lil Inkers "Jolly" die cut,  sentiment and snowflake stamp.

Thanks for stopping in!  Your visits are always appreciated!

Muse: Christmas Visions 75

Welcome to Muse: Christmas Visions #75!

So, the time is really here!  Cards have been sent and some already received...Yeah!

This week's card was created with a non Christmas stamp set.
It is the Simon Says Stamp "Spring Flowers" set.  The floral reminds me so much of a poinsettia and I just had to explore and play.  (you know I have about a dozen different poinsettia stamps...)
I used the dies and cut the above shapes from fun foam to use as solid stamps. I then stamped onto my dark grey card front with craft white ink and let all dry. Next step was to take the actual stamps from the set and stamped with Versamark ink, first just the foliage and embossed with fern green EP.  Next was the floral stamp using the Versamark and embossed with the red EP.  My sentiment is from SSS also and white heat embossed.  I added white heat embossed circles from the Spring Flowers set too for a little something-something.

I hope your cards, or most of them, are made and mailed!  Sending my best wishes to you all for a beautiful Christmas.
Thanks for peeking in!
